FREE 15 minute discussion about your idea, your plan and your way to success
Let's talk.
We can talk about your experience in writing, your hopes and dreams about what you want to accomplish and what your needs are to get you there. We can come up with a plan, a schedule and the goals to keep moving you forward.
Style and Content review.
Writing is easy, good writing is hard. There are a lot of pitfalls that can kill what could be a good story, a lot of things that people do, bad habits, you name it, that just ruin it.
We will start with your first chapter or 50 pages, whatever comes first. These are the first things your reader will see. These are the first things an editor will judge you on.
Do you have a hook to catch them right away? Engaging characters? Do you have a reason for that person in the airport who just lifted it and started, to drop $20 and take it on the plane with them?
---Craig Murray has been mentoring me in the development of my writing skills for the past four years. By guiding me through the process of writing short stories in a broad array of genres and styles, Craig has helped me hone my writing competence. He advocates that until you have written a hundred or more short stories in various genres, you won’t be ready to write your novel. While a seemingly daunting task, I have followed that thesis and my writing has improved vastly. Craig’s input has been invaluable, as evidenced by the three first-place awards I have earned in national writing competitions over the past three years.--- P.B.
---I always wanted to write a book but did not know how. Looking for guidance with an experienced and accomplished writer and mentor I joined Craig six years ago. I will never forget the first meeting when Craig smiled at me and said, "Everyone can write. Writing is easy, but good writing is hard." I quickly found out how right he was. Without his mentoring and the support of the group I would not have been able to grow into the writer I am today. The decision to join was one of the best I have ever made.
Thank you Craig for your dedication, your wealth of experience you so freely share.---E.W.
---I have learned more with Craig in how to write fiction in a year than I have learned in many years in post graduate education on writing.---M.S
Yes these are real people and of course there are more I could use. I just want to say how proud I am of all of them, of all the writers I have helped. It is an absolute joy to me to be able to watch someone go from struggling and unsure how to proceed to a polished professional writer.
